Dr. Garnier will be working closely with the Vice President for Knowledge Transfer to lead the AIT Extension to a new level by leveraging on technology, and bringing in revenue for AIT with an expanded continuing education students base.

I thank the hard work by the Selection Committee headed by Professor Rajendra, which unanimously recommended Dr. Garnier for this appointment.

At this time, I would also like to take this opportunity, on behalf of our Institute, to express our sincere appreciation of the superb services Dr. Jonathan Shaw has rendered in his capacity as the Executive Director of AIT Extension for the past 15 years.  Dr. Shaw has been a loyal and important member of the AIT family for 31 years, and he will be re-locating out of Thailand.  All of us will miss him and wish him continued success.

2. OQ Student

Email sent from AIT President on 2 October 2020.

Dear AIT Family:

I wish to inform you that a student in our Organizational Quarantine (OQ) has tested positive for Covid-19 and has been transported on October 1 from the OQ and AIT campus by a Thammasat University Hospital ambulance for treatment at the Hospital.  This has no effect on our OQ operations, and all students currently—or who have been—in the OQ are healthy.  AIT, in close coordination with the Department of Disease Control (DDC), strictly follows all the regulations/guidelines prescribed by the Thai Ministry of Public Health, to assure the safety of the AIT community.

Thank you for your understanding and patience, and the AIT Campus continues to remain a safe place to live, work, and learn, with all campus operations normal.  We wish our student a speedy and complete recovery.

Dr. Eden Y Woon

President
