(i)    AIT ANNUAL REPORT 2016 (ALL YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT AIT IN 2016, BUT HAVE NO TIME TO ASK).
Email from AIT President: 19 July 2017

Dear Respected Members of AIT Stakeholders

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), as a non-profit international organization hosted in Thailand, has had a policy to be fully transparent to its stakeholders. Traditionally AIT published its Annual Reports in print format to be delivered to its partners. The Annual Report normally includes a full account of activities, academic and financial output as well as the official External Audit Report.

The digital format of the Annual Reports are available on line since 1980, except for these 4 Years 2000-2003, during which the Administration then did not publish Annual Reports for unknown reason.

During the great crisis of AIT in 2012-3, when I assumed the AIT President, it was even more critical to be completely transparent, especially on the governance and the financial issues. Trust, honesty, integrity, transparency and accountability were the building blocks in regaining AIT's good image and reputation. As trust is the foundation of our public reputation, I decided to make our Annual Report transparent not only to stakeholders, but also to the general public.

The evolution of the Annual Reports since 2013 has been an attempt to make the Annual Report a complete "annual snapshot" of all things that happened at AIT during the year. It will permanently serve as a reliably factual archive of our AIT today for our future generation.

The Annual Report of 2016 that was freshly completed this week is a report per my wish to see AIT being one of the most accountable organizations on earth - per the grand plan to transform AIT from a "regional institute" to a "global institute".

The Annual Report 2016 is now online for the public:

With kind regards,

Professor Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai
AIT President
