5) Stray dogs in the campus

Email from Office of Facilities and Asset Management (OFAM)

Dear AIT Community,

Recently we have received reports of the increase in numbers of stray dogs in the community. Our Security normally have their regular survey and rounds on campus and check the places where the dogs are usually roaming especially in the afternoon and late nights.  As much as we could, we tried many strategies to solve the issue of stray animals, even assigning Security staff to catch them.  We used to invite professional dogcatchers to help catch the dogs, but after sometime, dogs will come back again.  This problem is not only in our campus, but also in Thammasat, NSTDA and other places.  Stray dogs are dangerous as they chase, attack or even bite people especially children, which could put the victim’s life in danger

In this regard, we request everyone’s cooperation and support to help us in the following:

1.       Please do not feed stray dogs or leave food for them outside the dorms and residential areas.

2.       Please dispose of trash accordingly and do not leave garbage outside the bins.  Trash also attracts dogs who are looking for food.

3.       Report to the Security staff (or call 02-524 6000) if stray dogs are found inside the campus.

Thank you very much for your kind cooperation and support.
