AIT is World’s Joint Top Rank in International Orientation – According to U-Multirank 2015 Institutional Ranking

U-Multirank is a new multi-dimensional, international ranking of higher education institutions, supported by seed funding of €4 million from European Union for the period 2013-2017. U-Multirank is based on a methodology that reflects both the diversity of higher education institutions and the variety of dimensions of university excellence in an international context.

Read about AIT's #1 ranking in the "International Orientation" category.

http://www.u-multirank.eu/#!/readymade?trackType=illustrative&sightMode=undefined&ranking=9&sortCol=overallPerformance&sortOrder=desc&section=illustrativeRanking

The first ranking – 2014 – covered more than 850 higher education institutions, 1,000 faculties and 5,000 study programmes from 74 countries around the world. The following link explains about what U-Multirank is.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmqXmhGpnQA

AIT was invited to participate in the second-year U-Multirank 2015 Edition, among 1,200 universities and higher educational institutions from 83 countries. All these universities were compared, using a variety of indicators across five dimensions: (1) teaching and learning, (2) research, (3) knowledge transfer, (4) international orientation and (5) regional engagement.

The result of the 2015 was just announced online on 30 March 2015. AIT’s overall performance can be seen in the below link.

 http://www.umultirank.org/#!/compare?trackType=compare&sightMode=undefined&compareUni=2585&section=compareRanking&pref-2=4&country=77

AIT's standing under “International Orientation” is remarkable. AIT stands out as the only university in Asia among the top 41 universities in the world to receive full scores under international orientation, with an A (very good) for 1) Student mobility 2) International academic staff 3) International joint publications and 4) International doctorate degrees.

In Research, although disadvantaged by its small size of faculty, AIT stands out in ‘size-normalized research publication’ with A Grade, and International Joint Publication also with A Grade, among the 13 universities in ASEAN participated in U-Multirank 2015 Edition.

AIT’s official U-Multirank Sunburst Chart, the round chart-graph with the U-Multirank “U” in the middle, showing AIT’s performance on the 5 dimensions is compared with those of other well-known universities in Asia. This is the first time in the history that AIT was included in the ranking with respect to 5 dimensions considered to be variably important for higher education institutes.
