Campus Notes

Help make AIT “5 Stars Plus” with QS – send data by October 20

This is the first time that AIT has actively taken part in an academic / research audit by one of the three most well-recognized international world university ranking bodies, namely QS. AIT President Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai is pleased to report that under the supervision of VPAA Prof. S. Kumar the compilation of inputs for the QS Stars audit has almost been completed. He expressed his thanks to the Schools and various Units for actively providing their inputs under various sections of the survey. There remains more critical data that need to be submitted by 21 October 2014. These are two very important areas which will be crucial for our final rating result, and which President Worsak would like to seek kind cooperation as follows.

 Prolific Academic Experts

Under the “Prolific Academic Experts”, the VPAA has already communicated with the schools, and has compiled an initial list of faculty colleagues and the awards received in 2013 based on the information provided in CVs/resume from the respective School’s website. AIT faculty and staff members are requested to help provide additional information on recognition that they have received in the year of 2013. These should be submitted by noon of Monday, 20 October 2014.

 Academic Survey

For the academic survey, AIT needs to provide a list of AIT’s academic contacts from universities, which can be at the local, national or international level (e.g. universities with exchange and collaboration agreements). Data from the global survey will account for points under “research (academic reputation)” and also “faculty and subject” rankings in the QS Stars audit. It is important that we try and list all of our contacts in partner universities, especially those which have a high standing in world university rankings. The inputs on the academic contacts are requested by the end of November 2014. By providing the names, QS Stars will contact them independently with no reference to those who provide the names.
