A.    Campus Updates

 

(i) Library Orientation: 16 – 19 August 2016

 

AIT Library will arrange a library orientation for new students from 16 - 19 August 2016.  The morning session is from 9.00 a.m. - 10.00 a.m. and the afternoon session from 14.00 p.m.- 15.00 p.m. Please select the date and time convenient to you.  Interested students may register for the orientation via e-mail at library@ait.asia  or contact the library staff on duty at the Circulation Desk, 2nd floor of AIT Library.

 

The Library will also arrange another orientation for small group of three to four persons at your convenience if those sessions on 16th August through 19th August 2016 are inconvenient for you.  For small group orientation, booking may be made via e-mail at library@ait.asia  or at watcharin@ait.asia .

 

 

(ii) Survival Thai Course for Beginners

 

The Language Center will organize a Survival Thai Course for Beginners from 22 August – 5 October 2016. The 7-week survival Thai course is an introduction to Thai languages which will cover basic words, phrases, daily and simple expressions and basic grammatical structures to communicate with Thais.

 

Course Schedule:

22 August – 5 October 2016 (20 hours, 2 times/weeks)

 

Monday and Wednesday, from 17:00 - 18:30

 

Course Fee: 2,000 baht

 

Class Size: 15 persons

(iii) Parking at designated areas and Registration of Bicycles & Cars

 

All AIT students & staff are encouraged to register their bicycles & cars with a AIT sticker which has a specific registration number. The facility is available at security office located at gate-1.

 

Everyone, especially new students, are encouraged to register their bicycles & cars as soon as possible. .

 

How to register your Bicycle/Car:

1. Present your AIT ID card to the AIT Cashier located in Admin Building and pay Baht 20 for the bicycle/car sticker

2. Bring the original receipt and copy of AIT ID card to security officer at gate-1 to claim for the sticker

 

Benefits:

- If your registered bicycle is lost, security officer can help to identify the lost bicycle with the help of CCTV and patrolling.

(Note: The service is available only if your bicycle is lost, while it is locked)

- Security can also identify you as a AIT member easily while entering the campus from gate-1 or gate-2 and also control unauthorized entry of outsiders for safety reasons

 

Kindly Note

- Please be reminded that bicycle and cars should be parked at designated parking areas only.

- If any unauthorized parking is observed, a fine of 300 THB for cars and 100 THB for bicycles can be imposed and your vehicle may be even locked.

- Please lock your bicycles and do not leave any of your personnel belonging before you leave.

(i) A motivational talk on "Dreams into Reality": 15 August 2016 

 

A motivational talk which will be delivered by Mr. Qaiser Abbas on the topic "Dreams into Reality".

(ii) Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) Implementation Workshop: 23 – 24 August 2016

 

A two-day Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) Implementation Workshop will be organized on 23-24 August 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand.

CAP Workshops focus on emergency alerting, and people interested in emergency alerting are welcome to participate. This includes managers, technical staff, media, commercial organizations, governments, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). There is no workshop participation fees.

Hosts of the 2016 CAP Implementation Workshop are the Asian Institute of Technology and the Sahana Software Foundation.
