(i)   A JOYOUS DAY FOR AIT COMMUNITY BLESSED BY THE GRACIOUS PRESENCE OF HRH PRINCESS MAHA CHAKRI SIRINDHORN

Message from AIT President (27 Apr. 2018)

At a stellar function organized to celebrate the renaissance of AIT, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn pressed a button to unveil the curtains of newly modernized library, and two new landmarks: the "AIT Clock Tower" and the "AIT Gate", simultaneously in realtime.

The inauguration of the modernized library is an important milestone for AIT, after the entire ground floor facilities had been completely damaged by the ravaging flood of 2011. As they say, every crisis comes with golden opportunity, and this calamity has provided AIT with an opportunity to reset itself for a new life. If it were not for the big flood, this 37-year-old AIT Library would have likely continued to be a dinosaur in the digital age.

The campaign to raise fund to modernize the AIT Library has initially received a seed fund of 1 million Baht from HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, a Royal Alumna of AIT. The Fundraising Campaign ultimately emerged as the most successful fundraising event in AIT history, collecting nearly 80 million Thai Baht.

The joyous day for the whole AIT Community marked the grand finale when the Princess honored each of the 28 major donors and other in-kind patrons a "Medal of Appreciation". The celebration for AIT's renaissance was warmly witnessed by over 400 VIP guests. Among them were Ambassadors from 15 countries including China and Russia, and 3 former Foreign Ministers of Thailand.
